Newsletter (September/October 2021)

Welcome Message

Greetings!
After the 2nd wave of COVID-19, as the things are getting normal it is good to have offline awareness sessions and meetings for the planning of activities and procurement of IDEA lab equipment. Also, as per the guidelines of the AICTE-IDEA Lab Steering Committee, our IDEA lab Coordinator and Co-coordinator have to attend FDPs in offline mode. Their learnings in these FDPs will initiate the activities with greater impact. Before these PDPs, they have attended a couple of online sessions organized by the AICTE-IDEA lab team on using various open-source software for PCB design, CAD, etc. So that, they will be ready for the FDP in advance. With all these progressive steps the face of the KKWIEER-IDEA lab is changing day by day.

Newsletter (July/August 2021)

Welcome Message

Greetings!
As a first step to reach out to the maximum number of students and faculty members, it is necessary to create awareness about the KKWIEER-IDEA Lab. For this, apart from the main coordinator and co-coordinator of KKWIEER-IDEA Lab, departmental coordinators are identified and online meetings are conducted about the planning of events and activities to be carried out, equipment and instruments to be procured, etc. During these meetings, we have seen a huge enthusiasm in faculties about the establishment of the KKWIEER-IDEA Lab. Departmental coordinators are also informed to share this information with their existing students, parents, alumni, industry associations, etc. This will help to find new possibilities for collaborations, which will benefit students in many ways.

Newsletter (May/June 2021)

Welcome Message

Greetings!

K. K. Wagh Institute of Engineering Education and Research is beyond proud to have achieved this milestone. AICTE-IDEA lab is Idea Development, Evaluation, and Application Lab for encouraging students in the application of fundamentals towards enhanced hands-on experience, learning by doing, and product visualization.

To provide updates on innovative ideas, student projects, KKWIEER-IDEA lab process, achievements, and awards we are starting this bimonthly Newsletter. It gives us immense pleasure in writing this welcome message for this newsletter.

The purpose of a KKWIEER-IDEA lab is to provide all facilities under one roof for the conversion of an idea into a prototype. With this facility on the campus students and faculty members will be encouraged to take creative work and in the progress, get training on critical thinking problem-solving, collaboration, etc. which conventional labs are not able to. The focus will be on training students so that they become imaginative and creative. The whole idea is to transfer engineering education.

Under this, all the students will be exposed to the KKWIEER-IDEA lab by organizing training sessions as well as supporting projects and by providing online learning. Teachers will also be trained in these labs to know their scope and opportunities in teaching-learning processes as well as research and development projects. Students will also be encouraged to work with faculties on R&D projects and internships which involve the utilization of KKWIEER-IDEA lab facilities.

Under this initiative students will be trained on 21st Century skills, teachers will be trained in Teaching-Learning Process, research, and projects, and students will be encouraged for projects and internships. Students will get actual industrial exposure by working on the projects using the facilities available in the KKWIEER-IDEA Lab.

We are looking forward to a key collaboration with all stakeholders that benefits our students at large.
